Build A Funeral

Description

The Stanton is a casket rather than a coffin. That means it is rectangular, with straight sides, rather than tapered at the shoulders in the traditional coffin shape.

It is made from solid mahogany rather than a veneer, and finished to a deep high gloss. Solid mahogany double mouldings run around the casket, framing traditional panelled sides and ends, so the panelling carries all the way round rather than stopping at the sides.

The double raised lid gives the Stanton its stepped profile, and it is the detail that shows the depth of the mouldings most clearly when the light catches it.

Mahogany is a dense, close grained timber with a naturally rich reddish brown colour that deepens under a gloss finish, so no two caskets look quite the same. The Stanton is shown here with chrome handles and fittings.
